Selfie Poem by Clive Blake

Selfie

Stand well back and leave me alone,
I've got it covered with my smart-phone,
I've taken my own image one more time,
For my social media profile's on the line,
I'm showing my followers how unique I am,
I'm a selfie-taker with a positive plan,
I'm self-obsessed and a control freak,
A social-media slave and an IT geek.

Don't be shy, we can both be in the frame
You can join me on the path to media fame,
Look into the camera and smile with me,
With selfie-stick in place, I have the ability.

But it's out of control and making me depressed,
It's not unique, I'm just like all of the rest,
If it was an addiction that I knew I could kick,
I'd willingly hit myself with my selfie-stick.
