Self Hypnotism Poem by Palitha Ranatunge

Self Hypnotism

Rating: 3.5

When you love a man or a woman
In your teenage, unknowingly
You create a flawless but fictitious
Character and becoming self hypnotized
And believe your lover is the sweetest
And most attractive in the world!
Weaker the you in soul and self
Devotion is more and the most for that love,

Likewise in a religion, the believer
Self hypnotized towards
A certain belief or faith
And becomes a devotee...

And fear of suspicion and questioning
Strongly thinking it's a sin
And devotes through out a life span,
The poor, the wretched and the week
Are utmost devoted before the
Mightiness of an unseen God,

It has been a process of
Hypnotization throughout
Generations, the blind belief
And blind devotion forever...

Not like your blind little love in your
Tender age, this blindness lasts
Until you die and moreover, it goes
In genes and extends its supremacy
Further through out generations
Being qualified to mixed
And victimized with the
Scientific theory of evolution...
