We hearso many
different voices in us.

So many claims,
contradictions hog us.

Help us differentiate
the many different spirits
to decide what is
really good and healthy
for our inner life.

Give us an attentive
and listening heart
at the beginning
of the time of penance.

Help us to trust your voice
and follow your words.
