Seduction Of Chair (Part - Iii) (Satire) Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Seduction Of Chair (Part - Iii) (Satire)

Voices aroused
When, Ghoul left
So that someone else
May not grab the throne
Imp himself led the forces
In favour of Ghost-
And Imp's suspicious hands
Crowned him formally-
With a great pump and show
The coronation was so celebrated
With a royal honour to Ghost.

Ghost, a corporeal enthusiastic soul
God loving and noble at heart
Sluggish as such-
Overpowered by the complexion
Un-resourceful too-
Least bothered about
Name and fame
Accommodating by nature
With pleasing personality
And physique-
Bearing no ill will
Against any one
Harmful to none
Yet helpful to all.

For his position
For he knew-
Indebted to Imp.
His weaknesses
Confirmed Imp's
Ability to rule.
With the passage of time
Lust for power and avariciousness
Turned ambitious Imp hostile
Hostile against Ghost.

Soon he withdrew his support
That effectively was lent to Ghost
Standing against as a strong and firm foe
Entire active politicians too divided into two
Hostile tents one of Ghost and the other one
Headed by Imp-
When, helpless Ghost
Was constrained to go on a long pilgrimage.

Most sincere and true in fact-
Mr. Fickle gave unconditional
Wholehearted support to Imp.

Mr. Tickle also came out stand by
In the forward row-
Quiet passive, yet impressive
Committed to all, but sincere to none
Frequently used to change his coat
At the last-minute
If need be or selfish ends so required
Well known for his skillfulness-
For his innumerable excuses to escape
For his artful flattery to please all
To negotiate, to patch up the differences
Soon as well and the adverse too.
