Seconds Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Seconds

Seconds.
Just seconds it takes.
To stop and think.
Done to evaluate,
The price paid allowing...
Fear to remain a priority.
And no peace of mind.
From doing this to gain.

People the World over,
Will claim they are of faith.
As if they play in it.
And not be of it at all.
To worry more about,
Negativity and obstacles to face.
With a sharing of complaints.
Aches, pains and their struggles.

Seconds.
That is all it takes.
To stop and think.
Done to evaluate.
Their faith.
And their relationship,
Claimed to have with God.

Then to ask of God,
To remove whatever it is...
Off their path to clear it.
Allowing a life to live,
Much more deserving than it is.
Proving the faith they have,
Is valid.
And not a second of it is faked.
