Searched Poem by Victor Okechukwu Anyaegbuna

Searched

I searched my heart
And felt the heat
Of dynamic pulsations.

I searched my tongue
And tasted the odium
Of vibrant relish.

I searched my ears
And heard the vitiation
Of smirched decibels

I searched my eyes
And saw the cones
Of battered hopes.

I searched my nose
And smelt the foulness
Of our smeared nation.

I searched my today
And saw the vanity
Of endeavour.

I searched my estate
And craved for virtues,
Alas! Of dignity.

Greatness healed!
Sagacity mauled!
Vision appealed!
Mission unaccomplished!
