Scwarzenegger's Drama Poem by narayana aghalaya

Scwarzenegger's Drama

Schwarzenegger's Drama

Arnold Schwarzenegger the actor
is indulging in a bit of banter
.
in sleeping bag, to pass a cold night
at own statue's foot-novel, not trite
.
most promises have expiry date
old pledge, hotel fails- why berate?
.
Arnold can get a suite, as a rich man
faster than it takes to spell 'spider-man'
.
Truman refused honors, once he retired
to live like that Arnold should have tried
.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Schwarzenegger, when Guv., had inaugurated the hotel, which hadhis own life size statue. At that time the hotel promised to let him be a guest any time he wanted. Sometime later, when he had retired, he went to the hotel hoping to redeem the promise. The hotel refused. In protest he passed the cold night outside the hotel, in a sleeping bag at the foot of his own statue! Truly a drama. He should have emulated Truman, who refused all honours and awards, after he retired as President.
