Your poem is a good reminder of our freedoms: We have freedom to sympathize with the pain of others instead of inflicting pain. We have the freedom to engage with others in non-hurtful ways. This terror has been part of our history, The Christians called it the Crusades and the Inquisition. Fundamentalist Muslims call it Jihad. Until that religion 'reforms' and all or all religions dissipate and disappear, this will continue in one form or another.
