Scotland Road. Poem by Tom Allport

Scotland Road.

It had been rubber stamped
The plans were in place
It was now official
And a bloody disgrace
Scottie Road was to die
Never to be the same
A community decimated
It was a crying shame
The first to go
Were the people themselves
With a mass exodus
Out to foreign bells
Many hearts were broken
Still longing fo home
Without the caring spirit
A lot felt alone.
