School Going (A Poem For Children) Poem by Bharati Nayak

School Going (A Poem For Children)

Bye, Bye Papa and Mummy
To the school we are going.
We will study in the school
There we will have fun too!
Oh! What tiffin did you pack
I forgot to check
Did you give maggie noodles?
No, no, our teacher had asked us
To bring only healthy foods.
Oh, it must be omelette, bread and banana
Now I can recall
And thank you Mummy for making this all
It is so sweet of you to wash our uniforms so clean
And ironing them as if sparkling
Otherwise, our class teacher
Will frown upon us and
Give a B grade for tidiness
Do you know, how do we feel so fresh
By wearing such neat dresses?
I have done all my homework
And so I will have a delightful day with no punishment.
We have a game period too
And we will have a grand time playing cricket
Oh! Rush, rush!
Our school bus has arrived
Oh Boblin! Be careful while getting on the bus!
Bye, bye! Papa and Mummy
We are going to school happy, happy.
