Scent Of Lotus Tea Poem by VO THI NHU MAI

Scent Of Lotus Tea

In the open sea at dawn
The pond is entered, the water parted
Deep pink lotus petals
Sip the pale, lasting moonlight

Softly, the bloom begins to open
Welcoming gentle scent of tea
A tender breeze gliding across
Caressing the vanishing night

A silhouette mirrored on still water
Lotus cradling a single dewdrop
Tea's fragrance weeping softly
Waiting for dawn's first step

I return to the flow of life
Steam rising between my fingers
Recalling my grandfather's stance
My grandmother's timeless smile

In a breath of time, the blossoms are gone
The cup grows cold, the scent remains
The scent remains, though the lotus has faded
And the sky above the hills still glows green

Every twisted thread of tea
Leading me back in tranquillity
Its trembling fragrance in the light breeze
Stirs a lifetime from its sleep
