Visit us again, Savior. ... We cry for you although we have lost your name.... beautiful prayer to the greatest Savior; yes; we are all your children and we are now living in the blinded knowledge with lame logic; So; we don't want to lose more the holy name of You; O Savior, please come and save us all
'We cry for you although we have lost your name.' - A fantastic conclusion to this beautiful poem. Posthumous congratulations to the poet on having her poem selected as the 'Modern Poem of the Day'!
Your footprints yet mark the crest of billowing seas but your joy fades upon the tablets of ordained prophets. We cry for you. a fine poem. tony
Footprints of our acts on earth! ! ! ! Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
As one who identifies as a Christian, I appreciate this poem, as I'm sure many of my friends can, disturbed as we are by the loud and hateful who claim to be Christians and are a bad advertisement for what Jesus is truly about. Yes, Lord, may you be seen for who you are in truth. -GK
This is really beautiful. A description of savior so stupendous in presenting the agape sacrifice.
Amen. One day he will visit. Maya was a soulful woman. One of a kind.
Beautiful lines... your love is my strength .. and one million incensed gestures stand between your love and me.
Very profound write unearthing human weakness of forgetting those who work for his upliftment, even the God, their savior. A great poem penned by a master craftsman well worth of modern poem of the day.
We cry for you although we have lost your name... creates inceasant ripples. A great poem!
Visit us again, Savior. Your children, burdened with disbelief, blinded by a patina of wisdom, .. Visit us again o gret saviour tony
Beautiful words. When we truly find the savior he would be there in everything, every where and everyone. Till then our journey is incomplete and a cry to meet the savior.
In my opinion, this powerful poem beautifully and cleverly articulates the dichotomy between Christ's compassionate teachings and the cold dogmatism of organised religion...a must read!

Your footprints yet mark the crest of billowing seas but your joy fades upon the tablets of ordained prophets. great 10+++++++++++++++++
Your agape sacrifice is reduced to colored glass, vapid penance, and the tedium of ritual. very critical of priests and rituals....... and the saviours foot prints are so holy. great contrasts. tony
Yes, this is the ugly truth about humankind- it is capable of this kind of ugliness and hypocrisy toward its loving Savior. Maya got it right- we have lost His name- we don't deserve His name..but He never stops calling f.
This poem has resurrection in its sight. Maybe, a parallel universe will help.
Petulant priests, greedy centurions, and one million incensed gestures stand between your love and me. A poem to save the world from violence and hatred.
