what a touching story/poem. Life can sometimes have us so wrapped up, we cant see beyond ourselves. Thank God for people like the shoe shine boy. Thank you for sharing :)

A very well told and interesting story in poetic form, Sandra. You conveyed a lot of the details and specifics of this unfortunate accident quite well. It was sad to see that life in India and our New York City have their similar aspects in that people are too much in a hurry to stop and aid an injured person. A very effective poem, Sandra. Carl.

It is only the starving who feed the hungry, It is only the pained who console the paining and strive to relieve them, It is only the poor and suffering who understand the suffering of the wayfarers since they feel they are one among the multitude as they are living in the open space under sky, ............very good theme and touching. Many a life we miss, he may even be a multi millionaire or an exceptional genius because of this trick of fate.

the small boy had a heart of gold...people are scared to get involved...i too have done it in minor incidents...but in every such incident ther would be a god sent to help...lovely poem
