Colourful attire I wore
has now replaced
into a barren land
Ashamed I am!
For the follies
of my little ones
for they all have
disrobed me
for their selfish need
The scorching heat
of the sun
makes my barren body burn
To fulfill your
unsaturated greed
you make me bleed
Sometimes, I fret and fume
in anger, I cause to drought,
storming myself, I shiver and shake
in anger I cause to flood
Stop! My children
on my bosom,
you all have reared!
I plead to everyone
Do not misuse me
to fulfill
your unwanted needs
Very beautiful poem. Mother earth pleading with greedy and rogue children. Nicely expressed. thanks for sharing.
