15. Bereaved
It was my suggestion, well taken
That Devabrata be anointed Crown Prince;
Entire nation woke up in a festive mood
But King was, for sure, the happiest.
To the utter astonishment of all
Devabrata refused the throne.
Only when king pursued
Did he reveal the story
Of the throne he had relinquished
The vow to celibacy he had made,
The incident I had forgotten long,
And he had disclosed to none.
The news was a shock so rude
From which the king never recovered.
And he left for his heavenly abode
Just in a matter of days.

Ohh twist in the story..Unexpected shocking news from which king could not recover and once again sathyawathi left alone to face life.well penned
Yes this one will do. Such a pace is admissible since it depicts the sorrows that might have shadowed over each mind in almost a different way. But the number of Prominent characters being so small in Shantanu's regime, the pace of the poem is quite appropriate. Your narrations are getting finer with each passing episode. 10++++ for the sharing.
