Woman always needs protection, but here the poor girl who is feeling insecured because of the sage.and her future too seems to be unprotected.. Nicely written.10
Yes Rini. I have just tried to depict the GROWING UP of Satyawati.. Nive that you appreciate.
Great saga. Many things to learn, many to think of. Is it intended to be continued?
Hi Galina, Sure, the saga continues. I have posted two more poems in the series. There is more to come. The story is not just one of RAG- TO- RICHES. It also says a lot about the intrinsic strength and resilience of woman and the social environment of India in those days.. Life is like that. But kindly bear with me, for I may be a little slow in writing/posting/sharing new poems.
Wise woman! ! ! I see where her son gets his spirit! Knowledge is power. Quest / For knowledge, my new mission is so succinctly said and gives good insight into this woman's person. 10 ++++++++++++++++++++++++
Hi Susan, I have presented Satwati as a girl trained by her knowledgeable mother in scripts and scriptures, though she was born to a fisherman, who was illiterate. With basic literacy on her side, and the harsh lessons taught by life at a very young age, she is bound to acquire higher levels of wisdom. Kindly find time to read the rest. Thank you Susie.
