Etebele manepade Balyakala Rajadolikhela Nua frock chandana tika Nakhapalish, nua chudi, ribbon......The festive mood of people of Odisha during Raja is very neatly depicted in this poem!

I think this festival is celebrated when crops are ready to be sold, the farmers have money to purchase many things. Lagan is also opened and marriages are materialized. This must be a beautiful festival and enjoyed by all.

Pherai nianta ki kie mote, sei dinatiku Basithanti phula dolire Bhasu thanti, asaranti Chuna Chuna Swapna bhitare. Wow... a lovely poem raining nostalgia for all memories pertaining to childhood days.. An irresistible urge within to return to those days where you could fly and float among bunch of dream clad with clouds on the swing of Flowers...A conglomeration of ancient and modern, thanks Ma'am...for so beautifully penned a poem that took me 50 years back. Please do create some more of these, please! 10+++++ Regards Subhas

Thank you for your kind appreciation of my poem. The festivities, togetherness, of our traditional festivals like 'Raja'and' Kumarapurnami ' , I miss too much.Though Ganesh Puja, Saraswati Puja, Durga Puja, Dipawali, and Holi are still celebrated with much fanfare, the closeness and friendship that festivals like Raja induce are still missing from these functions.
