Salvation's Rehearsal Poem by Gary James Smith

Salvation's Rehearsal

Salvation's Rehearsal

I love my Salvation's rehearsal
The day I was born again
When the Holy Spirit enlightened me
While reading God's Word.Amen!
I didn't know if it was a feeling
Or something that I had to do
But while just reading God's holy Word
I realized ever Word was true

Jesus the Way...the Truth and the Life
The Water...the Bread and the Door
The good Shepherd who died for my sin
And I continued to read much more
The Light of the world that too
And I and my Father are One
Then...to top it all off with this
He was the glorious Resurrection

Suddenly it all became plain
While I was holding back with reservation
My faith was to be centered in the person of Christ
It was in Him...Christ Himself! ...My Salvation!
I turned my bible over
And went to the side of my bed
I fell down upon my knees
And these are the words I said

Thank you dear heavenly Father
For the gift of your precious Son
Who took all of the wrath that I deserved
For my sins...yes every one
And then You raised Him from the dead
Where He's presently at Your right hand
I now ask You Lord to come into my heart
For this I thank You in Jesus name...Amen! ! !

And guess what? ...He really did! He really did!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
