Sailor Boy Poem by Jonathan H. Scott

Sailor Boy

Where goes our trusty sailor boy,
So far across the sea?
To dangers known, when ships deploy—
Though safe, back home, for me.

His duty waits upon the deck
When he puts out to sea.
To face all trouble on his trek—
Yet safe, back home, for me.

The fight is taken to the foe
In ships upon the sea.
Though, now, it's steady as they go—
And safe, back home, for me.

The stars shine brightly overhead
A-sailing on the sea.
As all the world is off to bed—
Be safe, come home to me.
