Wow. This work goes on my favourites list. There is a sense here that the journey is not only liberating, but a path designed for each us to reach a destination meant to define us. The tone of calm is reassuring. This is terrific, Norah.

Sweet freedom, sweet release. goodbye to desperate small talk. Innocent again, like ole' Huck Finn. Seeing the moon for the first time, feeling that wind shifting spray. Both setting your own course and rudderless in surrender. The two are compatible. Renegade poets-I am so happy for you Norah Tunney. Good for you! ! You can feel your awe in every line. Fresh and new....happy sailing.

Just noticed my earlier response did not come up here. Yes Edmund there is something about being out on the water that is always fresh and new. It opens the senses wide and makes one feel so alive. Thanks

So well written. I love the verb huck finning. That's a good one! Great imagery too. I think poets are often huck finning in timeless places. Thanks for sharing.

I agree Pamela poets are often huck finning in timeless places. We tend to pause and ponder more than most and look into the essence of things. It goes hand in hand with the poetic impulse.Thank you
