As frequently as in earlier times ships are sailed with wonderful memories. Definitely Ocean liners offered faster transatlantic crossings to rich and poor at that time. An amazing poem is excellently penned with respect to past perception...10

Thanks for your precise comments. There was class division on the 'Titanic', which meant that those in steerage were mostly trapped. It is amazing how much airliners have taken over in our times.

I greatly admire your series on various means of transport now reaching sailing ships to steam ships and then to ocean liners with all kinds of luxuries. Traveling by air has been taken over by huge and speedier jetliners. Thanks for this interesting series, Michael, which also has a personal touch.

A very good comment, thanks. The most significant factor, I think, is how much jetliners have taken over. I have not travelled much in recent years.
