Said A Monk... Poem by james watkin

Said A Monk...

Said a monk: "would that this excellence
Incarnate, and soon.
Following which I should walk on air;
And in blessedness keep"

A violet was meant, in shadow of abbey!
A man, with none to commune.
And nothing but love to float on!
Nothing, but heavenly sleep!
