SHIRDI SAI BABA
Somadeva Swami of Hardwar,
Heard Baba's name everywhere,
And came to Shirdi to meet him
Personally, after a long time.
When he saw flags that stood,
On the top of Baba's Musjid,
He came to a hasty conclusion,
Not to meet him, but to return.
His companions advised him,
All the way, having come,
Once go inside and see him,
Before returning back home.
Under their persuasion, he went,
To see Baba sitting in his seat,
But Baba shouted at him then
Not to come inside, but to return.
"Go away. Don't come back.
Why do you want to take
Darshan of a sadhu with flags
All o'er his Musjid place? "
Swamiji was surprised to note
How Baba read his thought
Easily by his mental powers?
So, a Saint, no doubt, he was.
When Swamiji felt like that,
Baba cooled down to invite
Him inside, closer to his seat,
And gave him a welcome treat.
This kind of mind-reading art,
Sai Baba, as a Saint, knew it,
That gave hopes to many visitors,
Who became then his devotees.
One may know how to read
Another man's troubled mind,
But he may not find solutions,
To the problems what he faces.
Not so with Baba, the Saint,
As he takes any complaint
From devotees as his own,
And finds its early solution.
