Sai007. The Early Life Of Sai Baba

SHIRDI SAI BABA

The early life of Sai Baba still remains
A mystery as none knows his place
Of birth, the details of his parents,
And how he came to Shirdi place?

When asked about it, he just smiled,
And each time, different stories he told,
That he was born to a poor Brahmin,
And to a Muslim fakir, he was given.

Another time, he told that he left,
His home when his age was eight.
He first arrived at Godavari Basin,
And reached Shirdi Village then.

Yet another time, he mentioned
At last, he came to Shirdi, troubled
By people at Mahurgad, Girnar,
Mount Abu, Akkalkot, Pandharpur.

He was driven from place to place,
By the fanatic local residents,
That made his life miserable,
With no shelter from any people.

Thus there was no consistency,
Each time, when he gave a reply,
So, none can make out clearly
About his past life history.

His life as Sai Baba started,
At Shirdi, from 1858 onward,
With no disturbance thereafter,
From his permanent stay there.

In a dilapidated mosque, he stayed,
Where people came in a crowd,
For his blessings, day and night,
Which all of them easily got.

People lived in harmony and peace,
With no caste or creed differences,
That was a scene appeared as one
To show ‘Unity in Diversity' done.

Even today people, in thousands,
In different walks of life, in queues,
They stand and pay their respects,
To his Samadhi, where he still lives.
