Sai006. Chand Patil Of Aurangabad

Rating: 5.0

SHIRDI SAI BABA

Chand Patil, a wealthy man, went
From his Dhoop Village in the District
Of Aurangabad on a business tour,
When his horse strayed away somewhere.

In spite of his search for two months,
He couldn't find the missing horse,
So, he had to return with its saddle,
Way back home, without the animal.

Sai Baba, sitting under a tree then,
Invited him to come and sit down,
And asked him about the saddle,
Without a horse, that was like a riddle.

He told Sai Baba, his horse ran away,
And he was tracing it on his way.
The fakir directed him to a stream,
Where it was staying all the time.

He returned back with the horse,
With a big smile on his face,
And for the miracle, he has seen
He became Baba's devotee then.

The next miracle he saw was,
It was a wonder of wonders,
As Baba struck the ground
With a stick, fire emerged.

The fire lighted the tobacco pipe,
With another strike, water came up.
They both began to enjoy thereafter
The smoke that came out, clean and pure.

Chand Patil took Baba to his house,
Who stayed there for a few days,
And they went to Shirdi to attend
A marriage that was well celebrated.

Mahalsaathy, the priest identified
Sai Baba, who was again welcomed
At Shirdi on a grand scale for his return
After a long gap of years unseen.

When the word "Ya Sai, " the priest said
Meaning "Welcome Saint, " that word
Became to be known as "Sai Baba, "
From that time onwards at Shirdi.
