This is still a WOW Poem with all the excellent comments given here, immortally very precious
This is true immortal poem, chosen again by Poem Hunter and Team as The Modern Poem Of The Day. Our greatest Congratulations to the great Poetess.
I have given my complete comments on this amazing and fantastic poem by Gwendolyn Brooks, and I have still these marvelous words for this excellent poem
I have always been affected by this poem. It is a message that reminds us to make the most of our circumstances, that success or happiness is not one dimensional. I see myself in Sadie and I celebrate all the Saidies in the world.
A beautiful and clever poem about what women can do or may do. The poetess shows these abilities,
FOUR: In the end, Sadie passes away, her daughters move forward, and Maud inhabits Sadie's old home, where the poetess hints at her unhappiness, meekness, and loneliness.
THREE: Maud embodies conventionality, while Sadie defies expectations, using her metaphorical "fine-tooth comb" to extract joy from life.
TWO: Maud seeks education, and attends college. Sadie remains at home, becoming a mother. Despite their different choices, both sisters grapple with societal norms dictating a woman's life.
ONE: The poem is about happiness, sexism, and society's expectations. The poem contrasts the lives of two sisters, Maud and Sadie, who take divergent paths.
Most deserving poem chosen by Poem Hunter And Team as The Modern Poem Of The Day. TOP Marks. A poem about what womencan do or may do. The poetess shows these abilities, a fascinating comparisoon
FOUR: The poem also praises going against the grain and living life by one's own rules, but showcases the hardships of both Sadie and Maud, who face either intense social scrutiny or intense loneliness
THREE: The poem explores themes of sexism and societal expectations. It implies that women in the mid-20th century had limited options for happiness and fulfillment.
TWO: Maud goes to college, while Sadie stays home and has children out of wedlock.
ONE: the story of two sisters, Sadie and Maud, who take different paths in life.
Crazy comparison, but we know who the happiest and luckiest in life IS. So samrtly rendered
