Sad Princess Poem by Saroj Padhi

Sad Princess

Rating: 3.0

Parrots fly in and out
of your roving rotund eyes
that nibble the button of my heart
with greeting clicks
from sharp beaks
inviting my attention
into the abyss of your soul's garden
where bougainvillea sing the song
of loneliness,
exotic lotuses ooze rare fragrance,
roses and orchids
droop under a hard Sun,
swans give the call for soul's journey
at every dreamy dawn,
turtles lick the agony underneath
your sad feet
in the courtyard's holy dust,
as you stroll
from flower to flower
imbibing beauty into your bower
that brim with honey
for bees' ever-increasing lust,
come dear princess
hold me to your dark spaces
let me fill your burns
with zeal of birds in love
feel of luminous days
and thrill of amorous nights
ending all burgeoning angst.

Loved the concluding lines that bring relief to a perturbed soul: 'come dear princess hold me to your dark spaces let me fill your burns with zeal of birds in love feel of luminous days and thrill of amorous nights ending all burgeoning angst.'
