Sacrilege (2) Poem by Raimi Babatunde

Sacrilege (2)

The night was innocent
The boundaries shouldn't have been crossed
But they ignored the police within
And swam in erotism to the seventh heaven
Friend, this can only be imagined...

How they stayed between their betweens
And glidded in yet unmatched ecstasies
Her dexterity on the mic, inimitable
As they knacked and knacked
Throwing caution to the wind...

If you slept with your friends'
You've comitted sacrilege
Just a couple of lovey-dovey chants
And a flash of materialism
The holy temples were opened
A place of celestial worship for one...

Love is not love until it is caring and respectful
If yours truly worshipped in another altar
They don't deserve the sole of your foot
Like a Cheetah, 'gbez, jakpa'
Trully in love? This mistake you aren't supposed to make.

When you find yourself in this boat
Do yourself the honours, walk away
Remember: 'He that must come to equity, must come with clean hands'
If you ignore on sentiment
Trust me, you'll tear again...
