Hmm quite a lustral of the old way is presented and the poor devirgination of a beautiful flower unready to be plucked from the moist soil... the demons from the apiary have been pollinating poor polly! ! ! Jus Primae Noctis! ? Hmm is that not the old medieval right of the lord of the manor to sleep with the bride of his servants and peasants? Do such things still exist in the civilised world? I ruddy well hope not? ? ! ! ! Very powerful poetic piece this with coitus quiddity thrown in to make us stop and think about man and woman, rank, society and how peevish the world can be in its fickle existence of the humanity that it sustains. Previous pervious natures will be banned from future civilisations? Damned lustful animals will make sure that it won't be! ! ! Sort them out Niv!

dear poet why it is referred to as defloration? Good old Niv - original as usual and vehemently vocal in most tribes the bridal bedsheet is displayed next morning signifying the culmination of this primal ritual that causes life long scars- there has to be a more civilised way to do this unholy act warm regards ss bakshi

DEFLORATION] ~ niv ~ UK ---------- I like the poem and the thought put behind every word of the poem. I like it in more than one way...Well written, very impressive, very different and a very powerful voice...I'd love to join the band-wagon of 'mass spiting'.. and i don't know.. if 'Kicking whapping bashing on Twin balls [OO]' are the only (and the only) option left to end the perversity.. Yes I'm with it too! Regards, Susanta Dear Nivedita (niv) , In reply to your message, I cite one of my poems written on a similar context. ' Unzipped lips unsealed tongue profound the truth likewise profuse the love. Kiss her nifty lips, truthfully, without pretension and relish the divinity. Say honestly, without awe Your word, to the world you ought to say and never hold but applaud, that is nicely and wisely said. ' Regards Susanta. == == Posted thru courtesy of AB London n

Prateep, below, might be right. (Is might always right?) Nivedita your poems are quite hard to read sympathetically - though I agree that rape is an abomination. Have mercy on your readers - someone gave me this particularly good piece of advice. Sad but true: people read mostly for pleasure. If there is no pleasure in the reading - and I must temper this by saying some of your wordplay tickles me - people won't want to read your poems. Please don't think I am the enemy here. I believe you have a good heart and are trying to say something worthwhile. And I thank you.

While I always appreciate the boldness in your poems, somewhere I feel that there is a growing unresolved hatred in your last few poems. I notice a similarity with Taslima Nasreen. Please do not let the fire in you mis-directed, as it finally happened with Taslima - always accusing the male. Darkness is all around us, but we should even miss the little candle burning and trying to fight the darkness.

it's really a nice poem. I like it...... so what catigory of the poem is this? free verse? I actually understand that the poem is talking about the oppressed woman, a woman who is vulnerable to men. thus very wonerful of you. concetrate on the tone!

rape, the crime against women has been continuing since ages... man appears to have advanced /become civilized? ? but somehow the physically defenceless continue to bear the brunt... a united voice should at least sensitize society against such atrocities... voice well raised!
