Running Late To Be Early
Woke up so damn late
Knew I was So Late
For early bird date
And she would berate
Didn't soap up
Just got washed up
(In more ways than one)
This day wasn't fun
No tooth paste for teeth
No mouth wash for greet
No patience to meet
The early bird treat
Gonna go back to bed
Give my head some more rest
At my good shrink's request
I'll stop being a pest
Richard, this is brilliant! There is so much humour here, and it really pulls one in. The last few lines....that could hint at something dark. At least, the recent news cycle opens that up as a possibility. One of your greatest!
