I was running away from God
As fast as I literally could,
Over the sand and through the sod
Because my sin told me that I should.
When I heard that God was closing in
I always ran a little bit faster,
As I was a man of course with sin
And my life was a complete disaster.
God was chasing me
So, I was spending my entire life running,
I hid underneath every rock and behind every tree
Never once did I slowed, I was cunning.
God was after me because what I owed
So, I spent my entire life moving and going,
Not once did I ever tired or slowed
But, then one day I started knowing.
Truly after me God was surely chasing
But, it wasn't because what I owed the Lord,
Then the Lord grabbed me and started embracing
He was chasing me to give me what I couldn't afford.
