Runaway Modesty Poem by Satish Verma

Runaway Modesty

Let's go incognito
to meet our enemies,
hiding behind the slogans
and clichés.

Stay what you
are inside, and fight
your demons blindfolded.

The roses are
turning black, without
stigmas.

Can you wash your
face with my tears and kisses,
back-and-forth?

Thorns can also be
tender, when you go to sleep
talking to moon.

Keep my charm
on your bracelet. One day.
I will come in rebirth.
