Rudraksha - Xcvi To C Poem by Parameswaran Nair Damodaran Nair

Rudraksha - Xcvi To C

Rating: 3.3

Xcvi

Hearing you calling me dearly I looked all around
Straining hard to spot you with my weak old eyes
My vain strife to trace you out from the crowd turns
To me a musing pain and to thee a pleasing game

Xcvii

With my palms shading my eyes I look for you keenly
Beyond the horizon, behind the clouds, among the galaxies
My waning senses could never perceive the least
That you were hiding behind my thin dark shadow

Xcviii

On the wings of the wind you came to me unseen by any
With gifts, pure and precious, in your wallet inexhaustible
While I stood confused to select my entitlement you left
Emptying the whole for me making me further confused

Xcix

You are at neither end of the endless time
But midway between the past and the future,
In the arena of life which men call the present
Where they keep warring relentlessly for the future

c

Man alone, out of your creations, is ridiculously avaricious
To saddle the transient stallion passing through the present
On it's way galloping swiftly from the past to the future
But finally all his vicious manipulations you turn to utter futility

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Man plays ridiculous games to make everything under his control but God turns down the manipulations

I've made a continuous reading of almost all the quatrains of 'Rudrakshas'.Towards the end, I feel like the 'Rudraksha' growing into a huge Banyan tree, spreading over a large area, providing shade and solace to those who come under it, and in the underneath its mighty roots binding the soil (love) together. Now nobody can easily ignore 'Rudrakshas'.They are pearls of intimacy, wisdom, philosophy, ethics and what not else! In one word, it is SUPERB! . Hearty Congratulations!

On wings of wind you came to me unseen........ the whole poem is a marvelous expression of devotional sentiments! No doubt His steps are soundless, his appearance is viewless and his existence is numberless......

And these five quatrains,96 to 100, are no exception in a rare series marked with exceptional penmanship.
