Rudraksha - Lxxxi To Lxxxv Poem by Parameswaran Nair Damodaran Nair

Rudraksha - Lxxxi To Lxxxv

Rating: 3.7

LXXXI

Listen to the sobs of grieving Mother Earth
Desperate and desolate, dejected and demoralised
By endless sufferings cast by man, your super creation
In imposture Imposing on her reckless servitude

LXXXII

Seeing man waging war against one another
For nothing eternal but for enticing ephemerality
Deep wounds of her disdained heart bleeds
For man's bereaved love, affection and gratitude

LXXXIII

Dig out from their tombs virtues, morals and ethics
Enemies strangulated and buried for selfish motives
When disasters march forth their way in victory procession
Remind them, the wages of betrayal are too hard to withstand

LXXXIV

Man, treachery and cruelty embodied, deprived of gratitude
Cut through the mother's bosom, that for them once lactated,
To dig out from the depths of hidden mines ceaseless treasure
And kicking and spitting at her mutilated body, desperated

LXXXV

The soul of Mother Earth hot with grief will cool down
The seas rising in raging vengeance will calm down
The thundering clouds will sheath their gleaming swords
When the prices of lost virtues are realised and love upheld

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM

Each and every stanza stands out and cries out man's cruelties and treacheries committed against Mother Earth. A vivid portrayal of man's greediness and Mother Earth's grief. The ultimate stanza gives a powerful warning to humanity. A great poem with a meaningful message.
