Straight forwarded and beautiful poetry in the spirit of Robin Carter's boxer, Shaun's poems always remind us of the forgotten, the marginalized, and important humanitarian issues. Well done and you have 5 stars in merit
I was incarcerated for nearly twenty years, For multiple murders I did not ever commit, The best years of my life inhumanely stolen, In the end an innocent man they did acquit..
Hi Shaun...great poem...I think you really capture the mood of a top fight! I first became aware of Rubin Carter via the Bob Dylan songL Hurricane. Yes, Carter was a victim of deep injustice. It's strange, as I'm a big boxing fan, but I don't know that much about the man, apart from Dylan's song and now your powerful poem. In my view, the best round of boxing I've ever seen is round 1: Marvellous Marvin Hagler vs Tommy 'Hit Man' Hearns from back in 1985,
Brilliant, sad but true this story. Poetic justice given to Ruben The Hurricane Carter Well Done Shaun
