Rose Of Reminiscence Poem by Bliss .

Rose Of Reminiscence

Rating: 5.0

A withered rose
kept between the pages of an old journal.
Rather than immortalising its death,
you immortalise its liveliness.
Reliving past moments in the present
is a present in itself.
Each petal is intact in its place
as if those memories never faded into oblivion.
The wounds of imperfection
and the thorns of regret
were severed by childlike innocence.
On the precipice of joy and sorrow
lies bittersweet nostalgia.
Cherish.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Nostalgia doesn't necessarily have to be sad. Even if those times are long gone, the memories are forever frozen in time inside your head. Meaning of the prose poem 🥀💝 In this poem, the withered rose symbolises fond memories of the past. "Kept between the pages of an old journal" is a metaphor for memories being put in the back of your mind, always there and never forgotten. You shouldn't be sad over a time that has gone by. Instead, you should cherish its sweetness. Getting a chance to relive perfect moments is a dream come true for everyone. The petal symbolises each memory we have. All these memories never left your mind even though you seldom felt their presence. Complicated things like imperfections and regret don't exist through a childlike perspective. You'll always find nostalgia hidden between happiness and sadness. I recently visited my old neighbourhood for the first time in over two years 🥺 It made me think about all my childhood memories 😻 The nostalgia overjoyed me, which inspired me to write about it from a brighter point of view. If you can relate to my prose poem, share it with your friends and loved ones <3

A very very beautiful poem and I agree that nostalgia isn't a sad thing. Many wonderful memories and feelings within. I think you might agree you can have it for times with those people places and things that are still in your life. A wonderful work that I enjoyed.
