Romancing Reality Poem by Steffi Webster

Romancing Reality

Rating: 5.0

Short lived dream flits by,
Again.
Glimpsed fantastical dimensions,
Treacherous windows taunting me
Disguised as questing surprise.
Barred escape visible in the
Glass iris portals of
His eyes.

Such affections mere delusions
Theatrical illusions tempting me
To think the forbidden thing.
Tempting me to think, of

Love.

Foolish fantasy but still
Mine. Illusive mirage in
The soul of humanity
Reflecting twisted riddler
designs. But.
Who can say if love is real?

Where is fancy bred?
In the heart or in the head?

Shifting through the sands of time,
I'll be yours if you'll be mine.

Steffi, I find this poem fascinating, leaving the reader tantalised, yet allowing them to use the gift of their own imagination to create the image in your message. Words are just labels used to portray situations and the skill is in the combination of how you use those words to convey a situation to the reader Sufficiently clear to get the message across but at the same time, sufficiently vague to provide for an element of personal interpretation. I think you have that skill Great read Sincerely Egal..
