or one ex, I had a few ex's too
guess I emptied all my bags
It took me time, for faithfulness untrue

I hear your sacred stories
and understand you too
real love that's lost is painful
once a love so rich, so true

my past was laid before me
I chose to put it carefully behind
I started new, as hearts will do
and kept my thoughts in line

so go ahead and tell me
o heavy heavy heart
empty stories of your past loves
how one has chosen to depart
