Roaring Typhoon Hagibis Poem by Tulsi Shrestha

Roaring Typhoon Hagibis

Roaring Typhoon Hagibis
Enforced by heavy storms
And torrential rain hit Japan
On 25 October 2019
Raising the level of river, causing
Damage to embankments.
It submerged and swept away
More than fifty thousands houses.
Thousands of households
Were deprived of Electricity
And fresh water.
Ten bullet trains got submerged
Due to flood in Nagano depot.
Around seventeen thousands passengers
Were stranded at Tokyo's Narita airport.
At least one thousand flights
Were cancelled.
5 million people were urged to leave their houses
Due to precautionary evacuation warnings.
For safe shelter and accommodation.
74 people were reported, dead
Hope for those missed and
Swept away by flood, faded.
The whole world, saddened And
shocked by terrible
Loss of lives and properties, reported.
Pathetic atmosphere resulted
Due to natural disaster
Moved state itself to tears
Timely standby rescue operations
And evacuation warnings by state
Minimised the potantial loss of life.
The hearts of people of Japan,
Skipped by catastrophic of flooding
And devastating destruction.
The whole state itself moves to tears.
Agony of cries were noticed everywhere.
