You are absolutely right! Rivers are like slithering snakes. In their curls and twirls, there is danger! During the rainy season, we hear of many deaths through drowning! Sometimes the water seem so calm and tranquil. Lured by the calm appearance, people dive into their placid surface, but get carried by the deep under currents! Beauty in brevity!
A fascinating short work! I find enormous pleasure in revisiting this cute poem of yours!
Rivers bring floods but also fertility to the soil. A nice short poem.
Another masterfully made nature poem, dear ate Rose...10++
An entirely new way of looking at rivers, but comparisons are always like that. We take only one aspect/attribute and compare. Sure, snakes and rivers move alike, and there too are hidden dangers, designated route also in a limited way. Perfect. This metaphor makes you look in a different way.
i can't find too much here to complain about. The Mississippi River, which almost bisects the U.S., north to south, has changed its route somewhat, in relatively small ways, for centuries i guess, though some dikes now help to keep it confined. i'd guess snakes can change their routes as well. Don't try to change the route of a rattlesnake or cobra by standing in its pathway! ! are the dangers of the snake’s making or otherwise; some of both i'd say. bri :)
Rivers! ! Muse of nature. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
The first line of this short work speaks volumes! Brilliant contemplation! !

Rivers and snakes, In this marvelous poem, A truth you can't fake! So well written, with so very few words. To my poetic treasure chest.
The zigzag way of walking is a fabulous similarity between river and snake, it is so poetic imagery, and then we came to the point stop and thinking about 'hidden dangers' which is the secret behind the strength of this short and deep poem, very well penned and onto my fav list with a big 10++.
