Free river free,
No barrier holds your waters,
No bias stems your flow,
Unhindered,
You roll pebbles, grit and stones,
One land to another shore.
You see not what lies in prejudice
On each bank as you pass,
Feed the earth at the mouth,
Every valley, field till last.
Be there war, be there hate,
Sides in divide and worse,
Free river, your run is freedoms call,
You nurture every thirst.
Undistorted, free from racist bind,
A journey no halt shall deem,
The river wanders shallow, deep,
Drift liberates land you stream.
Emancipated if we could be,
No dragging reed, oppressive link,
Blessed in thought, bondage free,
No yoke to quell our think
Oh river free go softly,
You take struggles in your stride,
If only would our traverse flow,
As easy as your ride.
