Rip Tide Poem by Laurence Overmire

Rip Tide

My ego grabbed me by the ear
and tried to drag me into the jaws
of fame and fortune

But out of my quiver I pulled
An arrow of soul
Shot him through the heart

He let go
Together we wash our wounds
In the ocean.
