Rhymes In Chimes

Rhymes in chimes
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
The dawn has come to an end
But in a new way, its also a new day
For some, it is time to mourn
Be understood that some others will have their say.

It has been the science of politics from time immemorial
And winning the license to lead in a democracy
But it is also the art of winning people's affection
And going for the home stretch until the last innings.

We pray that every leader gets his puck in the net
And wish that his luck is in when he does so;
There is the matter of making free throws
Which are crucial to the game
By making the tree of happiness grow
And which come from predominantly, filial leanings.

It is also all about serving aces
Or having a strong backhand
Which set the pace for the right move
Or which try to, and mostly succeed, not suffer setbacks and get into the band of visible light.

It is not only about making it past the finish line
It is also about staying ahead in the game of leadership
And you, Justin Trudeau, have been a leader fine until now and
And have made a name in the country of Canada and on the world stage,
As have all these leaders whom I know or have heard of
Who have been treaders of fine steps for a well defined past.
Canada, where women can be Adas (of the Lovelace fame)and men can be very ahead also
And USA, where there is also, as in Canada, Undying Superiority of Achievement,
And India which is Industrially Independent in Achievement;

It was a while back that we in Canada, bid Goodbye to Stephen Harper
Who was the topper in the elections three times in a row
Was it also Providence that aided him for despite voting for him
The country of Canada did suffer a decline in its prosperity;

Jimmy Carter, ex-Pres. Of the USA
Had a barter of love with the people
George H.W. Bush, ex-Pres of the USA
Knew all the hows and whys of being addicted to love of the people
Bill Clinton, ex-Pres. of the USA
Was bent on winning the hearts of the people of America
George Bush, ex-Pres of the USA
Knew how to push the American people for love.

Pierre Elliot Trudeau, ex-PM of Canada who makes me shed tears because of his absence when now, his son, Justin Trudeau has been elected PM
Was adept at writing and getting billet douxs from the people
Brian Mulroney, ex-PM of Canada
Knew how to be a pal of the honeys and the honeyed
Joe Clark, ex-PM of Canada
Thought loving people was a lark and thought it was all nice to do so
Kim Campbell, ex-PM of Canada
Was, in the short period, like a lamp which tells the true story of love of people
Jean Chretien, ex-PM of Canada
Was a titan at winning the love of the people
Paul Martin, ex-PM of Canada
Believed in throwing Cupid's and David's and Davie's darts of love into people's hearts.

Indira Gandhi, who was ex-PM of India when I was a child and schoolgirl and at whose absence I feel sadness
Believed in being in their hearts, of the people, that is
Rajiv Gandhi, who was ex-PM of India when I was a college girl and for whom I weep
Was the Bach and Viv as a winner of people's hearts
P.V. Narasimha Rao, who was ex-PM of India through the last year of my undergraduate degree in chem. eng. and short work career in India
Was all about PVN - Peace and Victory for a Novice like me and love for the people.

This began as an ode to you, Justin Trudeau,
And ended as a yodel to most leaders I have known and heard of
You whose tar has acted as a spur on the road to victory and winning the hearts of the people
Are also the musician who play the harp for her, the Canada whom I have grown to love.
