Reunion Poem by Catherine Casey

Reunion

Wing Commander Throtleneck!
Bye gum you're still alive.
Thought you'd copped a whizzer
Back in nineteen forty five.

Things have changed a mite round here
Since days of 'Chocks away! '
Ginger's with the fairies
And the beans are from Malay.

Zimmer frames are not the same
They don't quite hit the mark.
Fired from the stair case
For excitement after dark.

Ten bells means it's dinner time.
I'm sure they think we're deaf.
Loo rolls are on ration
And the matron's name is Seth.

The tunnel's seeing progress
We're up to three inch more.
Thought that things were over
When we won the bloody war!
