Like a dream
the day turns to black,
I see Paradise,
I see you coming back -
You return to visit
my dreams,
with a touch of your gentle hand,
you whisper, 'understand,
nothing is as it seems' -
I hear a song, like love
being sung,
I feel all despair
being undone -
I see the desert
watered and green,
I see what was dead, arise,
wide awake, fresh and green -
I smell the aroma of forever
upon your breath, and I find,
I no longer fear
the taste of death -
Then, like a dream, the night
turns to day,
I try to remain,
while watching you walk...
further and further away -
Slowly I open
my crying eyes,
feeling the warmth and hope,
upon another all new sunrise,
and perhaps, the return of Paradise -
oh, Smoky, I've tears running down my face, my dear friend, because this poem comes straight out from a lonely earth-bound heart
