Rest Of Our Lives Poem by Procyon Mukherjee

Rest Of Our Lives

Tip-toeing I kept her glasses and the phone
But she raised her head
And my heart on a quiver missed a beat

She was about to rest
But her mind, rising above the morphine
Did its work, in spite

A few moments from then
May be, it is a refuge
In eternity, seeking the rest of our lives
