Resilience Poem by Dee Gey

Resilience

Within the depth of my soul so deep,
Hidden emotions that I dare not speak.
Subdued desires and unknown fears,
Locked away for so many years.

A smile on my face, a mask so bright,
Hiding the darkness, concealing the night.
But behind closed doors, I unleash the pain,
Allowing my heart's storm to pour like rain.

Tears welling up in my eyes, a silent cry.
But in my silence I find the strength -
To embrace this difficult journey,
With all the hurt and pains.

Shattered dreams, broken trust,
I'll rise above, no matter what.
I am fierce with a warrior's heart,
And not giving up without a fight.

Sooner or later, I will find that key,
To unlock this chain that shackled me.
