Requiem For A Good Dog Poem by Janet Mary Zylstra

Requiem For A Good Dog

Death crept in on silent feet
And stole your soul away -
Slipped its leash around your
heart
And led you out to play

In meadows wide, with other
dogs
And cats, and other beasts -
And humans too, with friendly
hands
That deal out fuss and treats.
