Under a feverish sun my dream city gleams.
The waking world’s darkness is its light.

Wonderful oneiric setting, the poem glides so naturally like in a film, or a Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers dance. Very appealing.

Gino, i've had a number of ephemeral loves, and my life sometimes seems more-eternal than i'd like it to be. i guess time will take care of that second item! the first stanza befuddled me a bit. did you dream it up? YOU probably don't have to look up befuddled, but i had to look up ephemeral to 'remind' me of its meaning. i always resisted my mom's suggestion to study the Word Power pages of vocabulary in the Reader's Digest magazines at home. i DID read a lot of the magazine though. i really liked the last stanza: Each evening she’s there at our dream rendezvous, At a time and a place existing only for two. Do I exist in her dream city too? Do dreams so dreamt ever come true? ..............a good question; let me know if you ever find out! [ since i think of the rhymes in this stanza as rendezvous/two and too/true i will let you write it that way. see how generous i am? but if i thought there was a rhyme two/too, i would be apt to object as i don't like THAT kind of rhyme, though once in a while i catch myself doing something like that. call me picky! ! ! ] thanks for sharing. bri :)
