I 'GRANT' Unnikrishnan 'permission' to read his poem in front of the PH 'class', though it is not written to sound like what I USUALLY think of as a 'POEM'. It IS Enjoyable & I give it 4 stars.
I quote the poet's expression, "On my first day in school Aisha Teacher entered the class with a smile.-A smile that wiped the tears off my face; and off the faces of most others as well. And I didn't miss my mother anymore". Beautifully written!
Lovely reminiscences of childhood and poet's start of his schooling where he discovered another mother in the form of Ayisha Teacher. … But those were the days when birth-certificate were unheard of. …Yes, it was so!
....I WOULD give 5 ***** stars IF 'you' hadn't stolen roses from your sister's garden! ! ! This brings to mind some of my more memorable school experiences, both GOOD & 'BAD'. bri : )
